Purple Update: Songwriting Elective

Starting with this post, I will be making Purple Music Elective updates separate from the rest of my music class updates.

Six students are currently a part of the Songwriting Elective. We have been using the music editing app Garage Band as our means to compose. Currently, students are wrapping up their second project titled "Triads" as we spent time discussing common chord progressions and different approaches to writing and connecting melodic lines to the progressions.

The final project for the elective will start next week (1/28, 1/30) as students will create their own original piece of music. It will include elements they have learned through the elective but largely they can create what they wish!
